Huss, Ethel (Marriage - 4 June 1956) 
 

Miss Ethel Huss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Huss, of Abbotsford, and Robert Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Brown, of Athens, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony Monday morning, at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Raymond Schulz officiated at the ceremony at 9:00 o’clock and at the nuptial high mass. 
 

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in a floor length dress of lace and net that featured rows of lace down the back ending in a chapel train. On each side of the lace front of the skirt were panels of pleated net. The snug fitting bodice was designed with a Peter Pan collar and long, tight fitting sleeves. Her veil of illusion was caught to a pearl crown and an arrangement of red roses and white carnations were used in a cascade bouquet. 
 

Her attendants wore identically styled dresses of yellow, green and pink. Rows of lace and net ruffles cascaded down the back of the floor length skirts and lace jackets were worn with the strapless bodices. Ruffled netting in matching shades were worn as head pieces and colonial bouquets of red roses surrounded by white carnations were carried by all three attendants. 
 

Miss Gloria Brown, Athens, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Mildred Leichtnam, Abbotsford, and Miss Joan Sollberger, Athens, were bridesmaids. 
 

The groom’s sister and his nephew, Miss Kaye Brown and Russel Eder, Milwaukee, were the miniature bride and groom. They were dressed similar to the bridal couple. 
 

Best man for the groom was the bride’s brother, Bernard Huss, Abbotsford, and groomsmen were Donald Brown, Milwaukee, his brother, and Raymond Weiss, Athens, his cousin. Dwayne Van Wychen, Wrightstown, a cousin of the bride, and Frank Weiss, Athens, a cousin of the groom, were in charge of seating the guests. 
 

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Huss wore a gold print dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses and white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a pink crystal silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and white carnations. 
 

A dinner for the immediate families and bridal party was served at the Casa Grande. Supper for about 260 guests and a reception and dance were held at the Dorchester Memorial Hall, for friends and relatives from Abbotsford, Athens, Wausau, Milwaukee; Kimberly, Freedom, Wrightstown, De Pere, Appleton, Minneapolis, and Kaukauna. 
 

The young couple will make their home on a farm near Athens when they return from a Niagara Falls honeymoon trip.
